Tennis West was started in 2013 to provide affordable, fun tennis lessons to children who want to learn to play tennis.  There are different classes to fit all skill levels and ages in the summer.

 We have classes using 4 different kinds of balls - red, orange, green and yellow. By using lower compression tennis balls that bounce slower, kids are given the success to have fun playing tennis. A regulation yellow ball moves too fast and bounces too high for new-and young-players. Progressing from Red to Orange to Green to Yellow balls will keep kids in the game-and help them to improve more quickly.

Coach Fangman is currently the Boys and Girls Head Tennis Coach at St. James Academy for the last 17 seasons. In 2016 the Varsity Girls were the State Runner-up and In 2017 the Varsity Girls won the 5A State Title. In 2018 the Varsity Boys took 3rd in State.

She also is the Director of Tennis Growth at Genesis in Merriam all year if you are looking for youth programming.

In 2014 Coach Fangman received the USTA Jr. Team Tennis organizer award from Missouri Valley Heart of America for the Tennis West program. In 2016 and 2017 she was named Kansas 5A Coach of the year.  Also in 2017 she was honored at the WIN for KC banquet with the Kissick construction Teamwork Award. In 2020 she received the USTA award for youth programming at GenesisKCRC.
